This is a stunning Victorian little purse for coins or any little items. It has mother of pearl from and back as shown with a central unmarked silver blank cartouche with some scratches to it. This is set in a very pretty shield design. It has brass or similar frame and has a little side clasp which opens nicely to reveal a blue silk interior with several little compartments including a metal frame closing one with Brevete SGDG for French manufacture. The interior is fragile as to its age with some separation and the edge is beautifully scalloped. It is quite a large piece at 3.4 inches across and is a gorgeous French Victorian collectable.
As an antique item it will show signs of age and patina.
