Can I return my item or exchange?
Please ask any queries before purchasing and read and examine the item carefully before purchase. All items are described clearly. You have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the item. To meet the cancellation deadline, you must send your communication of cancellation before the 14-day period has expired. Customers that wish to return an online purchase for a refund should post the item(s) back within 28 days from when you received your order. Please use a tracked postal service and retain proof of postage. Returned items must be in their original condition and we reserve the right to refuse a refund or exchange if the goods returned are deemed to have been damaged. All returns must be made at your own cost.
Combined Shipping
We are always happy to keep costs low and it is hard to predict what postage of multiple items may cost. Please contact us directly for shipping rates for combined purchases.
International Shipping
We are happy to take orders for international customers. Please contact us for shipping rates and please be aware that taxes and additional import payments are the responsibility of the customer and will not be calculated or added into your purchase total. We may have to complete our international transactions through Paypal so please be aware of that before considering purchase. Please note also that customs forms and other documents may need to be completed on your behalf. Customs may also delay shipping which is beyond our control.
Vintage and antique items
Everything we sell has a history and life of its own. It will invariably show signs of wear. All items have been carefully photographed and detail any major wear or damage. We take great care in being transparent and explaining the condition of as we want you to love your purchase as much as we do. Do note that antique items are fragile and will not necessarily function in the same way as modern items, particularly items of jewellery. Care should be taken purchasing antique items and expectations of daily usage should be realistic. Vintage and antique items may have aged well, but may have minor scuffs, scratches or dings and beads may be irregular or worn and show pitting etc. This kind of wear is accepted as given due to age.
Posting and Packing Charges
We post as soon as possible and use practical solutions to send to you. If there is overpayment on shipping, we refund wherever possible. If you require any special posting please enquire before purchase. Please note that we may have to fill out customs forms about your purchase and there may be customs delays and/or charges. We often use tracked services so you can see where your item is. If your item is uncollected at your end and returned, this can be resent at your cost covering return postage. No refund can be given until the item is returned safely to us. We are unable to refund missing items until the criteria for being lost set by postal service is met. Refunds take up to 48 hours to process.
Condition of Items
We strive to list everything with a full description of condition and also photograph extensively. As we only sell antique and vintage items, these things will have a life of their own and a story to tell which will show in their condition. We cannot accept returns on items because of their condition - this will be detailed and if you have any concerns or questions, we pride ourselves on being quick and effective responders. Antique items do not function in the same way as modern items and more care or less use is to be expected always.
We also do not always provide polished items. Sometimes the patina of an antique tells a story and we chose to let the buyer decide whether to clean it or not.
Will you combine shipping?
We will always do what we can to keep costs down in shipping. We cannot predict what combination of items and weight customers may buy and what the costs are and subsequently it is best to ask us before buying about combining costs. We combine shipping as much as possible and am always happy to refund any over costs. We also cost in packaging costs which we pride ourselves on being sustainable and sturdy. Insurance only covers up to £250 so we may need to separate out larger orders in order to meet this.
Stuff to Know
We do use boxes and pin cushions etc to showcase our items in the photos but unless specified these are not included in the purchase.
Also it is our policy not to try items on for customers. We are happy to help with further information if required but taking photographs wearing items is not in our remit.
Also please be mindful that transit particularly across continents can sometimes shake stones from settings or other small little maladies. Most of these can be fixed easily and we always wrap carefully in tissue so do take care when opening.
Do you accept offers on items?
We price everything at what we consider to be a reasonable cost. We consider the rarity, condition and age of each item and cost it accordingly. We also have a transparency to the prices, so what you see is what you get rather than inflating our prices to encourage offers. We also have to cover our costs for purchase. We do not accept offers on items as we have costed it appropriately with all these considerations.
Shipping Times
We work hard to get your items to you as soon as we can. Our processing time is 3-5 business days and if you require it quicker talk to us before purchasing. You can copy the tracking number we provide and input into the website https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/ This will then give your item's journey. Once we have handed it to the postal services, we have no control over how long this will take. We are happy to help track it but cannot make it faster once we have dispatched it. Please consider this as we sometimes get reviews based on shipping time which is beyond our control.
Guarantees
We sell old items and as such we cannot guarantee that they will work such as old watches or compasses. We can try them out for you and give you an opinion and old items need to have realistic expectations of daily use.
Where is my item?
We use tracking services unless your item is very low cost. You will be given a tracking number and instructions on how and where to use when your item is dispatched. If your item does not arrive on schedule please check this tracking number before coming to us as we have no further information than that and we will just be checking the same tracking number as you will. Please note items are only considered "Lost" by postal services after certain timescales are met. We are unable to consider the item lost until these met.
Postal Services
Items cannot be considered lost until 90 days after expected delivery as postal as we may end up refunding you while the item is still in transit. Please be patient as we have no control over the shipping times once we have handed it over and long delays are to be expected. Please be sure to have your correct address in your order information. We cannot be held responsible for incorrect addresses being provided by customers. We may have to complete customs forms for your parcel and the customs and charges for each country should be considered by the buyer before purchase. We will help as much as possible but are not responsible for customs issues and charges.
