This is a beautiful hallmarked Victorian silver frame. It is nicely stamped for Birmingham 1899 and has a gorgeous frame of silver with circular base each side with a guilloche enamel shamrock to each side. To the rear it has a very good easel frame which supports it beautifully and a velvet back which may be glued in place and glass to the front. Inside the frame is a picture of Lord Roberts, who aside from Churchill was the person to lie in state aside from the Royal Family. He was a hero of many conflicts including the Indian Rebellion and Boer War and also involved with the Kandahar Ski Race. The frame measures 1.5 inches high and is a beautiful little antique.
As a vintage or antique item, it will show signs of wear and patina.
