This wonderful antique solid brass "ladies' legs" nutcracker is a gorgeous example of Victorian era novelty barware, dating from around 1900. It features the highly desirable early pointed shoe design and a beautiful, authentic age-toned patina.
The heavy cast brass handles open to reveal deep, hand-finished diamond serrations on the interior thighs that were designed to firmly grip shells. The mechanical lever is in great working order, pivoting smoothly on a classic flush-finished brass pin. It makes a stunning conversation piece for a vintage bar display or a unique addition to any antique kitchenalia collection. It is in beautiful, functional condition with lovely natural surface character and no structural damage. They measure 3.6 inches long.
As an antique item it will show signs of age and patina.
