This is a beautiful early piece from George Unite who was a legendary Sheffield maker and this is hallmarked nicely for 1852, so early Victorian.
It is a fruit parer which was used as a pocket device to peel fruit and for small other uses. It has a beautiful silver blade and a stunning exterior in carved mother of pearl with decorations to each side including a blank cartouche. There is a faint wrinkle to the blade and natural colouring to the mother of pearl. It measures 2.5 inches folded.
This is a gorgeous gift for a wedding or special occasion.
As a vintage or antique item, it will show signs of wear and patina.
Please look at the photos carefully and please do ask any questions, I am happy to help.
