This is a gorgeous wooden carved bear figure for holding a thread spool. It is Black Forest in origin and likely to be a lovely Grand Tour piece. It stands 3.25 inches high and is a good deep colour with a lovely naive look to the carving. He has nice black glass eyes and a charming face and is sat holding a bar between his paws which supports an original wooden thread spool. You can pull the bar out to put your own spool or thread your own onto it. It rotates nicely and is a very practical little notion. He has a very good age and is in lovely condition with pencil to the base and minor dings due to age.
As an antique item it will show signs of age and patina.
