This is a beautiful Victorian Valentine card before they became established as they are now. It is likely to be 1870s and features a charming picture of a shy little boy delivering a romantic card over a wall to his little sweetheart, who is sat in a chair with a lovely outfit. The rhyme says "This Valentine, O pray receive. In my sincerity - pray believe." To the rear is a message and possible glue stain - the message reads For Mary from Minnie - so lady to lady!
It is a very rare and very charming piece which will display beautifully, particularly framed and measures 4 inches high.
As a vintage or antique item, it will show signs of age and patina. This is a lovely very old item.
