This is a beautiful Victorian greetings card before they became established as they are now. It is likely to be mid to late era and is shaped like a beautiful fan. The sides are scalloped and the front is beautifully embossed. Each page has a charming flower decoration of bright colours surrounding a little romantic and sentimental verse. The front page has a maker's mark of E B & Co and With Best Wishes. To the bottom is a silk tassel condition as shown which is attached to a little mother of pearl button which goes through to each side - it is just beautiful. It would have had ribbon between the pages which is now absent and easily replaced. To the back of the last page is a gorgeous ink written dedication from "your attached friend" The verses are incredibly romantic with forget me nots accompanying a verse "this simple flower betrays my heart".
It is a very rare and very charming piece which will display beautifully, particularly framed and measures 4.75 inches without the tassel.
As a vintage or antique item, it will show signs of age and patina. This is a lovely very old item.
