This is a beautiful solid silver match safe or vesta from 1916 and for famous maker, Joseph Gloster. It has beautiful front and back decoration of flowers and scrolling going nicely over the lid with lovely detail. It has a good decorative cartouche to the side with a pretty cryptic initial as shown. The lid opens nicely and the hinge is good and it snaps shut beautifully. It has a striker to the base and a good bail to the side so perfect for a fob or chatelaine and measures 2 inches high and a lovely solid weight of 28 gms and is in beautiful bright condition.
As an antique item it will show signs of age and patina.
