This is a beautiful antique pocket box likely purchased as part of a Grand Tour. It is a tiny little piece, likely for dip pen nibs. It is made of wood and has a good slide lid which reveals a rounded cavity as shown. To the top it has a very pretty little painted flower.
It measures 2.4 inches across, and could also be a doll's house pencil box. It is in lovely antique condition and a useful little box with a multitude of purposes.
As an antique item it will show signs of wear and patina.
