This is a beautiful little needle book possibly from the Georgian era. It is made of card to the exterior front and back with beautiful openwork in a very decorative design around the border. It is very finely made and opens with ribbon as a hinge to reveal a little book of soft felt to hold pins and needles. The fastening ribbon is delicate and has parted from the tying to the side. What makes this truly special is the little hand painted and drawn pictures. There are lovely pencil sketches of ladies to the front and a gorgeous floral painting to the inside rear. It is a completely unique and very precious little notion likely to be nearly 200 years old. It measures just under 3.5 inches high and is in lovely antique condition.
As a vintage or antique item, it will show signs of wear and patina.
