This is a beautiful antique jewellery chest likely from Indian Colonial era. It is a good size at 6.25 inches across and 1.6 inches high. It is beautifully inlaid and has all kinds of colours and pieces. To the top is an attractive scene of two riders on horses set in beautiful Imari colours. The lid removes nicely and it has a good clean interior and is quite naive in construction with minor varnish wear and slightly rough edges and the intricate mosaic work of lovely design. It is likely to be early 20th century and the colours and skill are just lovely. This is a gorgeous antique gift and perfect for a special present.
As an antique item it will show signs of wear and patina.
