This is a beautiful brass match safe or vesta from the Victorian era. It has beautiful front decoration of flowers and scrolling going nicely over the lid and bottom part with lovely detail. It has a good blank cartouche to the centre and a blank back. The lid opens nicely and the hinge is good and it snaps shut beautifully with some minor internal cleaning residue. It has a striker to the base and a good bail to the top so perfect for a fob or chatelaine and measures 1.8 inches high.
As an antique item it will show signs of age and patina.
