1909 Silver Terrier Brooch in Original Box
1909 Silver Terrier Brooch in Original Box
This is a gorgeous Edwardian silver brooch from famous maker's Kenart, well known for their dog jewellery. It is a very solid piece as the dog is three dimensional rather than flat to the back and he is a sturdy little terrier set on a bar brooch. The rear is nicely marked for Kenart and 925 and Sterling and also has a nice RD number dating to 1909. It comes with its own beautiful box of silver exterior with a gorgeous cream silk interior and black velvet to the bottom part where it holds the brooch beautifully to display. This is for Northern Goldsmiths in Newcastle who opened first in the 18th century. The brooch has a good c clasp and measures 2 inches long and weighs 9.6 gms.
As a vintage or antique item, it will show signs of age and patina. This is a lovely very old notion.
